Bored Betty is a Los Angeles band that uses the songbook of The Grateful Dead to celebrate and explore influences and styles ranging from indie, to jazz, to experimental music. Rather than trying to recreate or imitate The Grateful Dead, Bored Betty treats their compositions as a Real Book of American music, to be used as a launch bad for various sonic explorations. No one in the band dresses like a corresponding member of the Dead, or plays reproduction of their instruments. The band aims not for faithful reproduction, but creative repetition. They play classic American songs in a distinctly contemporary fashion. 

But most importantly, Bored Betty aims to put on a show that will entertain, energize, and challenge both seasoned heads and those who have never listened to the Dead in their lives.
